Major and Minor Search Engines -
Why You Need Them ALL!
Whenever... where ever you see a submit url button, CLICK IT! Even if a particular search engine only refers a few visitors to your site each month, isn't it worth it? Let's assume hypothetically that there are a number of "small" search engines --each with the ability to bring you "only" one new customer every three months. That means thirty of those engines combined would produce up to one hundred and twenty orders per year that you would NOT otherwise receive! And we haven't even factored in repeat business & referrals from those customers. But the reality is that there are FAR more than thirty... If your like most webmasters, there are hundreds of "small" search engines you probably haven't taken the time to manually submit your site to yet. And there are so many other benefits to doing so!: In some cases, we've even heard of webmasters who enjoyed greater traffic from SMALLER search engines simply because there was less competition/fewer sites in their index and thus, a greater likelihood of being found! Being ranked "number one" under a particular key phrase on 200 "smaller" search engines may very well rival being number fifty under that same key phrase on a major search engine!
Some webmasters wrongly believe that by using a "submission" service they're covering all of "the bases." But submission services generally use automatic submission programs that literally "spray" search engines with your listing information. Not only do they often miss a large number of useful engines, automatic submissions are often rejected and/or negatively scored when it comes to getting listed. The only surefire way to be sure your site is listed in as many places as possible is to manually submit it ..engine by engine.. a project that usually requires 1-2 VERY full, committed work days...but is WELL worth it! Don't stop with just the "major" engines-- MAKE SURE your site is listed with mid-range favorites like Azoos.Com, TrueSearch.Com, and AllTheWeb. Besides, in the search engine industry, you never know when a "small" player will suddenly become VERY, very large -be listed in advance! Can your company really afford to be lazy and miss out on even a few potential customers each month? If not, then start submitting... EVERYWHERE!
